Warner Bros. newest film in The Conjuring Universe – THE CURSE OF LA LLORONA hits theaters April 19th.
In this latest film, The Conjuring Universe brings another spiritual battle to the big screen, one based in folklore and told in every culture around the world – the Weeping Woman or La Llorona as she is known in Mexico and in the Southwest.
The film, based in the 70’s has the legendary woman stalking the night — and the children. Ignoring the eerie warning of a troubled mother, a social worker and her own kids are drawn into a frightening supernatural realm. Their only hope of surviving the weeping woman’s deadly wrath is a disillusioned priest who practices mysticism to keep evil at bay.
The first Conjuring movie released in 2013 was a box-office hit. It received praise from both mainstream and Christian critics. Unlike other horror films, “The Conjuring” and all the sequels that followed on an important theme that resonate with the Christian community:
