After my trip from France, I had a welcome home dinner / family celebration of my cousin’s pregnancy at The Brice Hotel. We ate at Pacci and it was dee-lish-ous! Roberto Leoci’s “Leoci’s” has been a local favorite of mine for a while, as I am addicted to their Truffle Sachetti, so I expected it to be scrumptious with him as Executive Chef of Pacci. I had the Pesto Gnocchi, and it was tasty, but my aunt’s Striped Bass Mediterraneo – wow. I absolutely cannot wait to go back.
I have been a long-time lover of Kimpton Hotels, as The Lumen and The Palomar in Dallas are some of my favorite hotels. When I was a freshman at SMU, my dorm was 50 feet away from The Lumen, where my parents would always stay. The Lumen has had a major renovation which I am so impressed with, not that it wasn’t great before, but the addition of the new restaurant and pool area is great for SMU and the Park Cities area! I also absolutely love Hotel Monaco, another Kimpton, in Washington D.C. So yes, basically Kimpton is fabulous and knows exactly what they are doing decor and service-wise. There is something so much more comfortable and personable about a boutique hotel. The Brice has many little intimate rooms and nooks that I can’t wait to explore more – and I also heard there is a little garden/patio area I need to check out. Will report back with more details!
