I'd never heard of the book or author before so I had no idea what to expect. I decided to read it because I liked the cover and the blurb intrigued me. The Bone Season exceeded my meagre expectations. First off, I loved the world building in the book. The callous future ruled over by the Scion is perfectly realised and chilling. I had me some major chills. I loved the whole premise of the book, people with psychic gifts declared criminals and treated as such. I also loved Paige. I loved the fact she's Irish. I have a soft spot for the Irish. She's also a bit of a bad ass and has a pretty cool psychic ability. This was a pleasure to read.
