To celebrate the 5th Birthday of The Daily
Constitutional this month, our editor has compiled a list of 101 things to
love about London…
1/101: The Three Kings of Clerkenwell
Mentioned in Episode One of the London
Walks Podcast, written about on this very blog on numerous occasions, the Three
Kings of Clerkenwell has achieved nothing short of pub perfection this past 20
years. In the early 90s it was a slightly dilapidated and lovely old boozer.
Today it’s a genuinely eccentric treasure. The Three Kings stands out in a sea
of hostelries all trying too hard. From Clerkenwell Green right up to High
Holborn, the rush to gastro-fication has been so comprehensive that it’s tough
to tell one obedient ale and sausage and onion marmalade serving shop from the
other. Not so The Kings. Truly like no other, we’re not going to blog about it
again because we don’t want just ANYBODY going there. Promise you’ll only tell
your bestest and most specialist friends.
