The Beauty Behind The Blog – BLOGGER Q & A – Mel from Loads Of Lifestyle

By Triedandtestedblogger @triedtestedblog

This week’s The Beauty Behind The Blog, Blogger Q & A is with Mel, the lovely blogger behind Loads Of Lifestyle.

the beauty behind the blog

Tell us a little bit about yourself and your blog!
So, where to start… My name is Mel, I’m 26 and I live in a very small rural community on the border of QLD and NSW, Australia and I absolutely LOVE it! My nearest capital city/decent shopping/nearest Mecca/MAC counter is Brisbane about 4hrs away! I haven’t always lived in the middle of no-where, I grew up in the amazing Hunter Valley, NSW surrounded by vineyards and close(ish) to the beach!

I am a qualified Make-Up Artist, and use to have a good little business running back in NSW, however moving to a town of 4000 with quite a few established beauticians kinda kills the dream, but I get the odd wedding or formal so I’m happy.

I got into blogging because my friends kept telling me how good I would be at it. (I don’t really know about that?!) I’m a pretty direct person, and I don’t beat around the bush. I’m going to tell you my honest opinion, and I’m not going to fluff it up and tell you how amazing it is, when it really isn’t.

Loads of Lifestyle is an outlet for my creativeness. I love to travel, cook and create. I have a passion for make-up and cosmetics that sometimes my friends just don’t get. So I share it all to my blog, so people like me, whose friends eyes glaze over as soon as you mention the new MAC collection or NARS release can read and comment and share the excitement.

I have been a little slack on the posting front, but I have been doing a lot of research in the last couple of months and have some big plans for my blog in 2015.

The song you can’t stop listening to.
Song/Album – Taylor Swift 1989 – the whole album is amazing!

The one hyped up product you just didn’t love.
The Benefit “They’re Real Push-Up Liner” I just can’t figure it out. Maybe I haven’t played with it enough, or if it needs to be warmed up a little. I just don’t like it.

Your top skincare tip.
WATER! Hydration. Keep your skin hydrated. You can use the most expensive skin care in the world, but if you don’t drink enough water, your skin will never look as good as it could if you drink 2L of water per day.

The tools every beauty blogger should utilise.

  • Natural light where possible!
  • Social Media (obviously) I am part of a FB group and everyone is really supportive and there is no bitchiness it’s a really great space!
  • A day diary/notebook – to help plan upcoming posts and write down ideas.
  • A tripod – makes selfies/pictures a lot better
  • Blu-Tak – helps keep lipsticks or anything cylindrical from rolling around whilst taking pictures.
  •

    Your favorite fragrance.
I just got a new perfume for Christmas from my wonderful boyfriend. It’s Chanel Chance Eau Tendre! It’s such a lovely fragrance, it’s a fruity/florally scent. I love it!
