The Melbourne Watch company that had previous success on kickstarter just added their fifth timepiece called the Avalon. This great looking timepiece adds a modern twist on the classic aviation watch featuring an open heart automatic movement. Aviation inspiration can be seen in all parts of the watch. The matte black coating on the case is inspired by the F-117 stealth fighter. The elongated markers at 3, 6, 9 and 12 evoke the crosshairs within a targeting scope. The dial's open heart aperture and Propeller Bridge pay tribute to the open-nose fighters of WWII. The watch has a nice and thick 45mm case milled from surgical grade stainless steel.
