The Amsterdamse Hotelnacht May Be the New Staycation

By Amsterdam City Tours

The Amsterdamse Hotelnacht may be the new staycationMove over, Museumnacht! There's a new kid in town: Amsterdamse Hotelnacht.

What's that, you ask?

Why, it's Amsterdam Hotel Night! And it's this weekend only, from 12-13 January.

It's very much like Museum Night - parties, entertainment, food and drink, art, and an after-dark peek at all Amsterdam has to offer - only this time, instead of taking place in Amsterdam's famous museums, they'll be housed in the city's most fabulous hotels.

The event takes place over two days with the option of booking a room at any one of the participating hotels for an overnighter. But, of course, you can still check out all the awesome events without having to get a room in one of the fifty participating hotels (though, if you do, you'll enjoy a pretty discount).

Amsterdam: your staycation destination

Hotelnacht's organizers have some pretty excellent things in store for visitors including a kick-off party at the Intercontinental Amstel Amsterdam, the highest ice rink in Amsterdam at the Doubletree by Amsterdam Central Station, a pop-up gallery at Andaz Amsterdam Prinsengracht, a sustainable food and art market at Conscious Hotel Vondelpark, and a concert at (where else?) Het Concertgebouw.

Some of the events do require reservations, so make sure you check the program to see which ones you'll need to sign up for.

This year's theme is Op Vakantie in Eigen Stad (On Vacation in Your Own City). The nice thing about this is that it allows Amsterdam residents the chance to check out the city's notoriously expensive hotels without having to live on FEBO for the next month to make up for it. It's also a chance to check out the exciting projects going on in the city and score some excellent discounts and bonuses all for a totally affordable price.

Hotelnacht may be brand new this year, but I can see it sticking around for a long time to come.
