The holidays are upon us once again and while Kenin and I don’t really exchange gifts, we do an annual gift guide to inspire those that need a little help. We test many products on our travels and sometimes find little treasures that we fall in love with. I enjoy taking these things and sharing them in our guides to make your shopping and holiday experience a bit easier. Also, if you feel the need to send some of these gifts our way, we’ll be more than happy to accept. :-) Seriously though, we travel full time and don’t buy a lot of stuff for ourselves (not much room left in the car), but we do enjoy the occasional shopping trip to buy things for our friends and family. Without further ado, I present to you the 2015 Rambling Holiday Gift Guide.
For the imaginative adult: Coloring Books
I recently purchased coloring books for Kenin and myself. This turned out to be such a stress reliever for us both and a great way to get those creative juices flowing again. I loved coloring as a child, but am not exactly sure why we think that coloring should be restricted to childhood. Embrace this new trend and get yourself a nice coloring book and some good pencils to go with it.
For the roadtripper: Roadside Assistance Kit
This is an item that has been in our car even before we blossomed into travel bloggers. It’s great and handy for road trips, but also great in a pinch if you are at the mall with your mother and walk out to find one of your tires flat like I did.
For the traveling kids in your life: Kids Luggage
Giving your child the gift of travel is something that they will grow up and take with them forever. Adorable luggage filled with some travel essentials is a fun way to let your kids know that they are going on an awesome adventure. Luggage tags are also a great idea for kids (and some grown up kids at heart).
For the coffee drinkers: Aeropress
This wonderful invention makes our list every year. The fact that I can have anything from an espresso to an americano anywhere as long as I have hot water is pure magic. Every traveler should own one.
For the photographer: Mefoto Roadtrip Tripod/Monopod
These tripods are compact, light, and come in a bunch of awesome colors. I don’t leave home without mine. Actually, not entirely true. I took mine home to Trinidad and my dad took it out of the case to see what it was. Needless to say, he kept it but bought me the exact one as a replacement. Now we have two of these beauties in the family.
For the environmentally conscious: Water Bottles
Another item that makes our list every single year. I hate the thought of buying bottled water and seeing all of these bottles washing up on beautiful beaches when we travel. Buy a reusable bottle and be part of the solution.
For the technology addict: Portable Batteries
We live on our phones and laptops. This device is great for when one of us needs a bit of a power for a trip. We keep one charged and in the car at all times.
For the totally geeky: Star Wars Luggage
Okay, so we had kids’ luggage and I really didn’t want to put luggage on my list twice, but there are two of us running this website and unfortunately we both have veto power and i’m saving mine for something good. Kenin is a huge Star Wars fan and this hard sided suitcase mysteriously showed up while I was composing this gift guide. Who wouldn’t want to walk through the airport with Darth Vader, R2D2 or a Storm Trooper by their side right? I guess the only question really is Rebel Alliance or Galactic Empire?
For the romance traveler: Picnic Coolers
We travel with one of these as well and it always comes in handy when we take those gorgeous hikes. If you are going to force me to climb a mountain, there better be wine and cheese waiting for me at the top. Who’s with me!?!
For the beer loving traveler: Insulated Growlers
We love beer. We also love growlers. It’s a great way to take home your favorite brew from your favorite breweries for later consumption. They also make great gifts for friends as long as you fill them before delivery. Some of the best friends I have probably just keep us around because we always show up with beer. ;)
