The most famous festivals in India are Navaratri, Durga puja, Diwali, Holi, Dasherra, Sankranti, Pongal, Chhat Puja, Ugadi, Ganesh Chaturthi, Muharram, Eid, Onam, Good Friday and much more. During the month of September to December is the time to celebrate most of these festivals. Acelebration of the festival is an important part of life, at the same time taking the safety measures during the celebration will make it more delightful. Here are ten important safety tips to celebrate upcoming festival seasons.

(1) Drive safely:

First thing first. Don’t drink and drive. Drunk driving is a major contributory factor to road crashes and road deaths in India. Wherever the celebration — everyone should promote safe behavior.Alsowearing a seat belt can reduce the risk of dying in a crash by about half.  Make sure young passengers are buckled into appropriate safety seats.

(2) Leave your valuables at home:

You don’t need to bring your iPod or any antique necklace, leave them at home. If you have a smart phone, make sure you keep it safe. Don’t bring all your credit cards, take a backup debit card as well as your cash.

(3) Make a meeting point:

In case you get lost or separated from your friends, make sure you arrange a clear meeting point on first arriving at the festival were to reunite. (4)Take proper food and Keep yourself hydrated:

Make sure to eat regular meals and drink enough water to keep yourself hydrated. A proper meal will help to get out from a hangover. (5)Firecrackers - Think about yourself as well as the environment:

Firecrackers are used to celebrate in most of the festivals. While using firecrackers we are definitely faced with the risk of burn injuries and so a few precautions are necessary to take into action. Always wear slippers during your fun time with firecrackers and never try to do anything to a firecracker apart from lighting it from a safe distance. In times of increasing air and noise pollution that we are witnessing nowadays, it is important to take responsibility to save the nature while using firecrackers. 

(6) Never leave your drink unattended:

In parties drink is must nowadays whether it is cold drinks or soft drinks or hard drinks and it is common to leave our drinks unattended to enjoy dance floor or gossip. So make sure not to leave your drink unattended while partying to prevent wrong intentions. This is very much important. Keep your drinks with you all times and make sure your friends do the same too.

(7) Plan accordingly-tell someone where you are going:

Plan your night out, tell someone where you are going and when you will be back. You, your family or friends should never walk home alone. Remember, safety in numbers. If you have no other option, walk in well-lit areas. Park and lock your car in secure, well-lit areas keeping valuables, including bags and coats, hidden.

(10) Take care of yourself after the festival is over:

During the festival time, we consume a lot of junk foods, sweets, and other things. So afterthis hectic session, it is always advisable to go for a weight loss session. Replenish andrejuvenate your skin after the festivities with a lot of moisturizers or a homemade face pack.An oil massage, plenty of water and a good amount of rest should have you in good formsooner than later.
