Tea Boat

By Annamoss84 @missanniebean
I do love this time of year for many reasons, not only do I spend lots of time with my family  but  I get the rare chance to catch up with old friends. A while ago some of my uni friends and I decided it would super if we caught up over a cup of tea during the Christmas season, so met with them the other day.  We headed to the center of Birmingham to a little coffee place on the canal bank, me being well... me, didn't realize we were having our tea on an actual boat! Tea Boat I got up for our tea meet and popped some jeans and a casual jumper on,  I would of opted for a dress of some kind but if any of you in the UK are reading this, you will understand the awful rainy weather we are currently having! So I decided to I was more interested in being as warm and comfy as possible.
Before the day I thought up on clothing I may wear and from that, I knew I wanted jeans, a rich coloured bag, converse trainers and some sort of feminine knitted top. Shopping Casual
I followed my idea and went for my trusty Topshop Knitted Rose Jacquard Jumper - which you'll be thrilled to know has gone into the sale for £25.00, down from £40.00. Tea Boat

You can't go wrong with good jeans and a well made knitted jumper.  I particularly love this jumper because it's very me because of its flowers - making it look delicate and not heavy.  I simply popped a basic vest top underneath the jumper and added my chunky necklace.
Tea Boat I hopped on the train to Birmingham New Street to meet 3 of my fabulous friends, we had all been home for Christmas and were very ready to have a good chinwag about all our recent adventures.
Tea Boat We decided to head to a canal boat coffee shop called The Floating Coffee Company,  we're all big tea lovers so anything tea shop related was ideal!
Tea Boat Tea Boat Tea BoatI started university in 2003 and graduated from my degree in 2006, (I can see you all calculating how old I am ;)) but I stayed on to do a masters degree so left in 2008.  It's so good to have such lovely group of friends from my university,  as you do tend to lose touch with people unless you push to keep in contact.  You can easily lose connections with people who live close to you, so it's extra hard when you all live in a variety of locations. Luckily we all make an effort, so a tea stop on the canal in Birmingham was a big thumbs up!
Tea Boat Tea Boat Toasted teacakes, tea and catching up was just what I'd needed.  We didn't have long together but it was absolutely wonderful all stopping our busy lives just for a few hours to talk like nothing had ever changed - that is a sign of true friendship.  I may suggest to the girls for next time we do a tea shop tour and pick somewhere else tea related to visit on our next meet up!
Being inbetween Christmas and New Year can be quite tricky, luckily I'm off work (hurrah) so I'm getting odds and sods sorted whilst also taking some much needed chillout time.  Have you met up with old friends?  It is always great to do that and I have managed to do that quite a bit this Christmas, which has just been what the doctor ordered!
