Tiago is the best selling car of Tata Motors in the hatchback segment. It has been the preferred travel companion of many buyers since long due to its good security system and advanced features. Apart from the IC engine, the car is also available in CNG and electric versions. This time, Tata has quietly added some important features to the XZ+ Tech LR variant of the electric Tiago.ev.
Tata Tiago EV gets new feature updates
Tiago.ev XZ+ Tech LR gets IRVM or Inside Rear View Mirror with auto dimming facility as a new update. That means the driver no longer has to manually flip the switch day after night. This system is so that the reflection of the headlights of the rear vehicle does not cause any problem to the driver’s vision.
Besides, the XZ+ variant has a 45W USB port, which will charge the mobile battery quickly. It also comes with ‘Pollen Air Filter’ and Auto Fold Outside Rearview Mirror. Tata has removed the black roof from all variants of the Tiago.ev. The price of the car has not been altered due to the above changes. The price has been kept at Rs 7.99 lakh to Rs 11.89 lakh (ex-showroom) as before.
The medium range variant of the Tiago.ev covers a distance of 250 km on a full charge. Again 315 km range is available from its Long Ride trim. Both the versions are offered with a warranty of 3 years or 1,25,000 km (whichever is earlier). Again the battery pack and motor come with a warranty of 8 years or 1,60,000 km (whichever is earlier).
Four level brake re-generation and two driving modes are offered on the models. The electric motor of the mid-range version gets a maximum power of 60 bhp and 110 Nm of torque. Again the output of the long range version is 73 bhp and 114 Nm.
Standard safety features on the Tata Tiago EV include dual airbags, anti lock braking system, electronic stability control, tire pressure monitoring system, rear parking sensor, auto battery cut off and puncture repair kit. The car competes in the market with Citroen eC3 and MG Comet EV. Their prices start from Tk 11.61 lakh and Tk 6.99 lakh (ex-showroom) respectively.
