A Skull found

A rare sunken German submarine has been discovered near the main island of Java in Indonesia. The Nazi submarine is believed to have been sunk during World War II. This new discovery gives new perspective for what happened in the region during the World War II and also gives some clues for a few unsolved mysteries.

According to AFP, the wreckage was found by a group of divers who went for a swim in the area. In later investigations, Indonesian researchers have discovered 17 skeletons in the submarine which believes to belong to its’ crew, along with several other remains. The exact identity of this submarine hasn’t been confirmed yet. However, some marking and plates representing the Nazi insignia has been found inside.

Huffington Post mentions that this could be the ”U-168,” submarine which was taken down in 1944 by a Dutch submarine. The research is still in progress and hopefully we will get to know more about the vessel soon.
