Taco Meatball Wreath Appetizers Or a Meal

?????????????

Several days ago, I was reading my FB newsfeed when one of the pages I follow showed this great picture saying they were preparing that meal for dinner. The page is called Briar Rose Bed and Breakfast. The B & B is a beautiful place in Reedsville, Pennsylvania and the proprietors are just lovely people! Please go visit their FB page and give them a “like”! When I saw the picture, I thought it looked interesting and asked for the recipe. Apparently, several people asked as well and soon enough BRB&B posted a link to the Taste of Home recipe. It looked very easy and I actually had all the ingredients needed – and I REALLY had all the ingredients instead of having some and substituting many like usual.

Last night, I decided to make it. As I was preparing the meatballs, I thought they would be great appetizers to eat on New Year’s night – that is – IF Mr. Picky Eater liked them enough. Here is what you will need:

2 Can Crescent Rolls
2 Cups finely shredded Colby/Jack cheese (divided)
½ Lb. Hamburger Meat
2 Tablespoons water
2 Tablespoons Taco Seasoning
2 Tablespoons Hidden Valley Ranch Dressing Mix (this was my addition and is optional)
Salad makings – as you like them. I added lettuce, onion, cheese, salsa, and avocado.

First, take the hamburger, 1 Cup cheese, water, taco seasoning, and Ranch dressing mix (if desired) and mix it up well then make 16 meatballs. Place on a baking pan and after pre-heating oven 400 F, place in oven for about 12 minutes or until all pink is gone.

Meanwhile, place the 2 cans of crescent rolls on a 15 inch pizza pan in a sunflower pattern like this:

You may want to place yours closer (in a smaller circle) than this one but either way, it works out fine.

Take the meatballs out of the oven and turn it down to 375 F. Drain the cooked meatballs on paper towels and then begin rolling the meatballs up in the crescent rolls.

This is what it looks like when they are all rolled up.

Bake at 375 F for 15 to 20 minutes or until crescent rolls turn golden brown like this:

This is what it will look like all done!

You can serve as an appetizer like this:

Or, you can serve it as a meal like this:
