T-Mobile Carries Its First Curved Screen Smartphone

Are you ready for a curveball? Mobile devices are now being designed with curved screens, a feature that is exploding in popularity around the world. One of the most exciting smartphones to feature a curved screen design is LG’s G Flex. Fortunately for T-Mobile customers, the carrier now offers the innovative smartphone.

Advantages of a Curved Screen

Curved screens offer a more immersive video and audio experience with better viewing angles and less reflection and glare. They are ergonomically designed to be more comfortable to hold and handle. Additionally, the curved design is a better fit when held vertically up to the ear to make a phone call; the design reduces the distance between the user’s mouth and the microphone, optimizing the voice and sound quality.

Curved screens have been featured on more than just mobile devices. The OLED flexible display technology also expands to TVs, giving screens up to four times the resolution of HD with improved picture and a full-bodied viewing experience.

More About the LG G Flex

The LG G Flex has much more to offer users than simply its curved screen, which the company claims offers an “IMAX-like experience for multimedia.” It has a 6-inch, 720p display and is between 7.9 and 8.7 millimeters thick at various points along its vertical arc. The LG G Flex houses a powerful 3,500 MAH battery and has a rear key that helps users avoid accidentally powering the phone off.

It is powered by Qualcomm’s quad-core 2.26 GHz Snapdragon 800 processor and runs Android 4.2.2. Its Dual Window feature separates the screen into two separate windows for better multitasking. The LG G Flex from T-Mobile has QuickTheatre, Dual Window and Face Detection technology, as well as a camera timer and an urgent call alert system.

For the aesthetically-minded consumer, the phone offers what LG calls a “self-healing” elastic coating on its back cover, which helps the phone “recover” from scratches and nicks. Comic geeks will love this feature — in a press release, LG compared the elastic coating of the LG G Flex to the self-healing powers of X-Men Wolverine.

Perks of a T-Mobile Contract

T-Mobile is currently running a few promotions that make it a good time to be a customer.

Back in March, T-Mobile made news when it announced that it was doubling the amount of Internet data their users could consume on the 4G LTE network — at no extra cost to the customer.

Last month, T-Mobile CEO John Legere gave wireless customers another incentive to switch over to his company: the Simple Starter plan, which costs $40 per month and includes unlimited talk, text and 500MB of data. Also, instead of automatically levying additional charges if a customer goes over his or her data limit, T-Mobile will offer the customer a day or week data pass, or prompt them to sign up for a different monthly plan. This kind of transparency is quickly setting T-Mobile apart from its competitors.

Another perk of becoming a T-Mobile customer? The company will pay any early termination fees charged by rivals like AT&T, Verizon and Sprint. The company will pay every penny of early termination fees for both individual and family plans, a cost that could add up to as much as $650 per line.

If you’re looking for the next hot technology trend at an affordable price, the LG G Flex is just what you’re looking for.
