Sydney IMATS 2012 Roundup

IMATS FOTD

As I mentioned in my last post, this year was my first IMATS and boy was I excited! Not only was I excited to check out the makeup exhibitors but also to meet some the of the lovely people I follow on YouTube or through blogging. I had a fantastic weekend swatching and purchasing makeup but also eating/drinking and catching up with some of you.

For those of you interested in what I picked up over the weekend here you go. It was a small haul in comparison to some ladies but all the items I picked up I think I am really going to enjoy. I didn't go nuts buying eye shadows and lipsticks in 100 different colours that I'll never use but focused on picking up items that either I've been wanting to try for ages or items I know Ill get the use from. Listen to me trying to justify it all...

I was disappointed NYX Cosmetics pulled out at the last minute as this was one of the brands I was most interested in checking out. Illamasqua wasn't on the bill either as apparently they were accidentally added from last years list. Overall I have to say I was a bit underwhelmed by IMATS. I heard many people say that in previous years there have been more exhibitors and it has been generally busier with a more exciting vibe. I would go again if I happened to be in Sydney but I don't think Id make a special trip as most of these items you can now source easily on the net. However by far the best part of the weekend was catching up with friends and meeting lots of new bloggers and Youtubers along the way.

I didn't attend IMATS for Day 2- to be honest I think one day is enough. However I did catch up with some lovely bloggers I missed out seeing Day 1 namely Confessions of a Beauty Addict, Reese Atomic, Wtmontana & TweetMayaTweet. We caught up for lunch then high tea at the Tea Salon in Westfield Sydney with a little gelato detour along the way. A perfect way to round off the weekend.
If you went to IMATS I'd love to hear how your weekend was. Did you pick up some goodies? What was your favorite part of the weekend?
