I would be reviewing the Sunsilk Natural Recharge Shampoo today. I’m sure you have already read countless reviews on this shampoo but I still wanted to share mine as I have been using it regularly for around 2 weeks along with the conditioner and I didn’t find it to be that good as it has been raved in the blogging world by many beauty bloggers. It’s just a regular shampoo which claims to be paraben free though its paraben free formula also doesn’t seem to do any extra special to my hair. Read on to know more about this shampoo..

Water, Sodium Laureth Sulphate, Dimethiconol and tea- Docoecylbenzenesulfonate, Cocomidopropyl Betaine, Sodium Chloride, Perfume, Carbomer, Glycol Distearate, Guar Hydroxypropyltrimonium Chloride, Disodium EDTA, Cocamide Mea, DMDMD Hydantoin, Mica and Totanium Dioxide, PEG-45M, Ginseng Root Extact, Hellianthus Annuus Seed Oil, Methylchloroisothiazolinone and Methylisothiazolinone, CI 42053, CI 28440, CI 47005.

My Experience with Sunsilk Natural Recharge Shampoo:

When I first saw this bottle, my first impression was- what fancy sleek packaging it comes in! I totally loved the sleek light green bottle the shampoo comes in. The packaging is sturdy and travel friendly. Second good impression was on its fragrance, it smells amazing and I just love its smell.

The actual product/shampoo is shiny white in color with very fine shimmers. It lathers very well upon massaging. I oil my hair twice a week and so as I have been this shampoo consistently for past 2 weeks, I even used it many times to wash my hair after oiling and it removes oil nicely in two wash. I think, no shampoo can remove oil from the hair in just one single wash, every shampoo has to be used twice to remove oil and the shampoos which can’t remove the oil in even two washes are useless, it’s just what I think! We may be risking to dry our hair if we go on washing the hair more than two lather with a shampoo so I generally like shampoos that works nicely in removing the oil in maximum two lather. And this one removes the oil nicely and leaves scalp clean.
I use this range- shampoo and conditioner together and my hair feels quite soft though not smooth. Flyaways were still noticeable after using this range. When I go to bed at night the day when I wash my hair, my hair would be feeling soft till the time I’m on my bed but the next morning when I wake up, hair feels so rough and frizzy when I touch them. I know my pillow case is not causing this issue as I always sleep on a satin pillow case and figured out that this range keeps hair feeling good only on the day of wash and then dull, dry hair again on the next day. I even noticed scalp buildup after two days of washing with this shampoo and buildup on hair is only caused by the products we are using and I’m using only this shampoo and conditioner besides a hair mask which I use once a week only to the roots of my hair so I know that it ain’t causing the buildup and what else can I blame than this shampoo and conditioner which I have been using regularly for past two weeks.

The good thing about it is that it is paraben free though I don’t mind parabens in my products as I’m not allergic to it. The other good thing is that it does make hair limp and flat though does not even add high volume as such and it gives a thick hair illusion to the hair so you will love it if you always dream of getting thick hair, at least it will give you an illusion of thick hair. The claims of containing ginseng root and oil (which I don’t know what it does to hair) are all useless as I see ginseng root and oil at the 8th last in the ingredient list so I don’t think there’s anything to rave about it that much. I believe if a brand features any particular ingredient as its main feature, it should be among the first 5 ingredients to really deliver its benefits and not at the end coz it doesn’t do any good being at the end in the ingredient list.

It does not dry out the hair though a bit of roughness can be experienced if used without a conditioner. If used along with conditioner, it makes hair soft, manageable though does not control frizz nor does it work on split ends. It does not even make hair thick and strong as it claims to!

Pros of Sunsilk Natural Recharge Shampoo:

• Pleasant fragrance.
• Rinses off easily.
• Does not make hair limp and flat.
• Gives a thick hair illusion.
• Removes oil nicely.
• Makes hair a bit soft.

Cons of Sunsilk Natural Recharge Shampoo:

• Contains SLS.
• Doesn’t control frizz.
• Doesn’t make hair strong or thick as claimed.
• Not much hydrating for dry hair.
• Ginseng root and oil is 8th last in the ingredient list so I don’t think it does any good.
• Not a good option for chemically treated hair.
• Does not give any shine.

To Invest or Ditch it:

It’s a 50:50 situation for me. You may want to invest in it if you are looking for a daily hair cleanser which is paraben free and you may ditch it if you want something very hydrating and nourishing for your hair. This range is a complete skip for dull, damaged, dry and chemically treated hair as it does not do any good even if used consistently and is not much hydrating for dry hair. The good part about this shampoo is that it does not cause hair to fall much like most other shampoos (maybe because of its paraben free formula). So, it’s your call and you decide, I have told every particular thing about this shampoo in my experience part be it good or bad!
