Sunday Session – It Must Be Love!

By Yourfamilysurvivalcoach @shari_brewer

This week over at Cass Can Sew, the Sunday Session music link-up has gone all lovey-dovey and mushy with St Valentine’s Day looming – it’s only days away – but for weeks now the shops have been crazy-mad with romantic cards, plastic flowers, teddy bears and the like, overkill much??

Valentine’s Day is just one of those things – some people are in to it, and some people aren’t. At our place though, it’s not the romance of St Valentine that’s celebrated – it’s the end of a season …..

You see, when your special one is a hard-working rose farmer, Valentine week (and many, many, many preceding weeks in the lead up) is not all heart shaped candy and cute things like that. And look, before anyone asks, NO, I don’t get a trailer load of long stemmed red roses on the 14th Feb either ….. in fact I don’t get any. Every last standing bloom is pre-ordered and I can’t recall a Valentine’s season when there has been any spares. BUT I truly do love how St Valentine’s Day marks the beginning of a more ‘normal’ routine for us – the pressure valve is released and it’s goodbye to 15hr working days …. until next summer, that is.

Picking a love tune for today’s Sunday Session was no easy task as so very many glorious love songs have been penned. Like most of you, I’m sure, I’ve  certainly howled along to many love songs where there’s been explorations of  all kinds of love – undying love, unrequited love, tainted love etc …. but somehow I’ve managed to pick a single love song that I’ll always adore ….. sigh ….

  Ahhhhhhhh …. it’s Elvis!

Wherever you are, and whoever you’re loving, have a great Valentine’s Day … and if you are lucky enough to receive some beautiful long stemmed red roses, enjoy them! x

I’m joining up again with the lovely Cass Can Sew for her Sunday Session #5, and she’s also just issued some lovely news too ;)
