Happy Sunday! I trust everyone is having fun and relaxing or else having a very productive day. Today is cleaning day at the Shannon household. Holly had a dance competition yesterday that kept us away from home all day. Connor’s girlfriend wanted to come along to experience a competition for herself, and Connor ended tagging along – much to his dismay. As for Jim, he was helping a friend do yard work. Needless to say, nothing got done yesterday, which means we are all busy little bees today. Since the weather is rather gloomy, it makes for a perfect day to stay home and do our chores.

Connor had his first track meet this week. I don’t think he was prepared for just how long they took, as he was a bit upset he did not get home until 10 PM. He ended up having to play catch-up with several late nights filled with homework as a result. One can only hope it was a good learning lesson for him.

Holly headed back to dance classes this week, followed by the aforesaid competition. While the break was nice, I know she was excited to get back to dancing again. It’s amazing how much she misses it when she doesn’t have it. The competition was local, so we thankfully did not have to get a hotel room or wake up at an ungodly hour to prepare. The team did an amazing job yesterday. They even ended up winning the two biggest awards of the day. It was so fun to watch because every dance of theirs was probably their best performance yet.

The audit is finally done, and I will be finishing up month-end goodness this week. It is so odd to realize that I can finally put my efforts at work towards improvements and other projects that need attention. It is actually exciting to be able to put this last year to rest once and for all. I doubt the long hours are over, but it will be nice to slide back into a normal routine again.

I managed to post fairly regularly this week. Between three reviews and the regular Monday recap, it was a busier week on the website than I’ve had in a while. As for the reviews, check out my thoughts on Heather Brewer’s The Cemetery Boys, Sara Gruen’s At the Water’s Edge, and the new M. J. Rose novel, The Witch of Painted Sorrows.

I hope everyone has a great day and a wonderful week to come. Relax, enjoy time with your loved ones, and read as much as possible!
