John 3:19-21
And this is the verdict,
that the light came into the world,
but people preferred darkness to light,
because their works were evil.
For everyone who does wicked things hates the light
and does not come toward the light,
so that his works might not be exposed.
But whoever lives the truth comes to the light,
so that his works may be clearly seen as done in God.
Ephesians 5:1-2, 8-11, 15-20
So be imitators of God, as beloved children,
and live in love, as Christ loved us
and handed himself over for us
as a sacrificial offering . . . .
For you were once darkness,
but now you are light in the Lord.
Live as children of light,
for light produces every kind of
goodness and righteousness and truth.
Try to learn what is pleasing to the Lord.
Take no part in the fruitless works of darkness;
rather expose them . . . .
Watch carefully then how you live . . .
because the days are evil . . .
try to understand what is the will of the Lord . . .
be filled with the Spirit . . .
singing and playing to the Lord in your hearts,
giving thanks always and for everything
in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ to God the Father.
