«We met 10 years ago through a friend. It was an unexpected evening and we talked for hours. At first, we were surprised because we had the same origins – both half Greek and half Italian – and we were born one day apart in the same year. It was hard to believe. We felt a real connection. After 5 years of dating, he proposed during our vacation in Corfu. After a beautiful day at the beach and a dinner at the restaurant we returned to the hotel. I wasn’t expecting anything because the day was over…. but when I returned to the room, it was decorated with roses and candles everywhere… and that’s when Lefteris proposed. Unfortunately following certain events such as Covid, the wedding was postponed until 2023. But we held on because we knew that this was what we wanted».
«The theme of the wedding was the olive tree. So, there was a reminder of the olive tree in the flowers, in our wedding invitations and even our gifts for the guests. The most emotional moment was the religious ceremony. We enjoyed every moment of this union and felt such a strong bond. What we loved was the floral arch made by Benetatos, a result even better than expected. As well as the table centrepieces which were very successful. The musicians at the house during the bridal preparation were great and then Ornella left her grandmother’s house and walked with all her relatives and the musicians to the church. It was very emotional. The atmosphere was perfect and the view from the Andromeda wedding venue was magnificent. The food and cake were delicious. But the most magical thing was seeing our loved ones celebrating our love with us and dance with joy. We trained for a year to perform a tango, representing the dance from the movie Captain Corelli’s mandolin, filmed on the island of Kefalonia and telling the love story of two lovebirds with our origins – Italian and Greek – which represents us perfectly! The classes were not easy but fun. Doing this together at the wedding was such a pleasure! It was a very special day as we dreamed of for so many years and we are happy to have wonderful pictures to remember this day throughout our lives».

«I fell in love with the dress at the first wedding dress store visit. I had 2 pieces – one for the church and one for the evening celebrations. Even if I had chosen it for 3 years already, today I would choose the dress again. It felt just ‘right’ and so beautiful».
«We were very happy about having our wedding in Greece! We live in Belgium, and it took us a year and a half to prepare everything, including the trip for all our guests – making sure they had the right ticket flights, hotel, etc. It was not easy, because there are no direct flights from Belgium to Kefalonia, but they all made it, for us. It was a beautiful wedding, and I would do it all over again with no changes».
The bride’s advice: «Take the time to listen to each other and what you really want. Know that even if you plan everything very well, some things might not be as you planned on the wedding day, but it will still be your perfect wedding day! »
