Stylish New Year’s Eve Outfits: No Matter What Your Plans Are

By Bridgetteraes @BridgetteRaes

New Year's Eve Outfits Right after Christmas, New Year’s Eve is right around the corner.  The last big celebration of the year.  All of us celebrate differently.  Some stay home, others can’t imagine a New Year’s Eve without a big party, and others prefer intimate gatherings.  However you chose to celebrate there is a way to do it with style, no matter what you are doing.  In today’s post, which will be my last for the year, I am offering my tips and suggestions on stylish New Year’s Eve outfits no matter how you celebrate.

Stylish New Year’s Eve Outfits

Outfit #1- Cozy at home

I never go out on New Year’s Eve.  It’s too cold, there are usually a bunch of drunk fools out and about and I really just like to relax and unwind with my husband and our yearly traditions.  If this is you, as well, staying home does not mean that you can look and feel fabulous.  I think it is important to embrace the new year feeling luxurious and as good as you can.

While you don’t have to plop down the amount of money these J. Crew cotton velvet pajama pants cost, you can look for a pair of relaxed bottoms that feel good to wear.  With these types of pants, consider luxe fabrics in easy silhouettes, like this cashmere Athleta sweater that has been layered over a soft pink tank, that has its own built-in bra. Who wants to wear a bra when they are lounging about? Finishing this outfit, I added a pair of pink slippers and a necklace that reminds you what is most important in life– love.

Outfit #2- Girls night in

If you aren’t staying home, but are planning a quiet night in with some close friends or family, it hardly makes sense to get all dressed up.  However, you can still add some rich and luxurious elements to your outfit.

in this casual look, I used rich colors to create an earthy outfit with a relaxed mustard colored top layered over a burgundy cap sleeve top and pair of casual jeans.  To further the luxe feeling, I finished this look with one of my favorite ballerina flats, the Ellen flats from Vince Camuto in a deep, calf hair burgundy shade.  Total yum.  Finally, for more rich color, the outfit is styled with this teal handbag and burgundy necklace from Blu Bijoux.

Outfit #3- Heading to a party at someone’s home

If you’re heading out to a celebration at someone’s home or to a dressy-casual event, jeans and a sweater will suffice, but you want to kick it up a notch if the celebration is with more than just a handful of friends.  In this outfit, I used a shimmery Alice + Olivia sweater, where the v-neck can be worn in the front and the back, and a pair of darker denim jeans that are more formal.  To fill in the neckline, I added this inexpensive, but dressy, necklace from Bauble Bar, styled the look with an edgy pair of heeled black booties, blingy bracelet from Stella & Dot, and black handbag from DVF.

Outfit #4- Girls night out

For you, New Year’s Eve is your night to basically go nuts.  You love the nightlife, want to look sexy and don’t plan on seeing the party ending until the last glass of champagne has been drunk.  Go girl!  In this case, a sexier and racier look may be the way to go.

Here, I took this tank dress with slimming side panels from Modcloth and added some fun components, like these leather chandelier earrings.  Yes, you heard me right, the earrings are made of leather, and ornate clutch, With so much skin showing, if it is cold where you live, or you just want some coverage, I went the mod route with a pair of dark opaque tights from Spanx and a pair of suede Ivanka Trump booties.

Outfit #5- A formal night out

There is no other way to ring in the new year luxuriously than attending a formal event.  In this look, I chose a Karen Millen gown in an extremely figure flattering matte jersey.  In addition this fabric is also very comfortable.  Just because you have to get dressed up doesn’t mean that you have to be in pain.  In addition, the draped silhouette over the tummy can hide a lot.

Now you could just go the safe route with a dress like this and add rhinestones and diamonds, but I quite liked popping in a contrast color, and added these turquoise  gem chandelier earrings from Danielle Stevens.  Next, I brought all the colors together with this clutch from Jessica McClintock.  Lastly, around the wrist,  I added a simple silver bracelet from Bauble Bar and metallic strappy heels from Badgley Mischka.

However you celebrate this New Year’s Eve, remember to do it with style.

As I mentioned earlier, this will be my last post of the year.  I decided to take some much needed time off between Christmas and the new year.  That said, before I go dark, I just wanted to say thank you, to all of you, who have been a reader of this blog, either casually or avidly.  Words cannot express what it means to hear from many of you regularly, who take the time to comment, support me and are always so encouraging and grateful for what I do.  I wish you all the happiest of holiday seasons and look forward to catching up with all of you in the new year!  Be safe, celebrate heartily with those you love and, remember, to always do with style.
