I had seen this on the runway and was always fascinated by it, but wasn't sure if this trend was for me. As a fashion-influencer, I believe it is my sartorial responsibility towards my readers to try and bring to them trends from runway to realway with a more wearable appeal.
The socks with heels trend was long time coming, and I am glad I gave it a shot. It might take some trial and error to get the best look and combination compatible with one's personal taste, and my basics mentioned below will just make your work easier.
- with ankle straps, T-straps and other open-toe sandals, wear nubby or plain trouser socks. You might want to keep your edgier shoe look grounded with rather a simple pair of socks.
- with pointy toe closed heels, a pair of lacy or shimmery socks would pair fabulously. The sleekness of the heels would be enhanced further by the ultra-feminine socks.
- the leg-length of the sock depends on the hem length of your outfit. If it is a short-skirt then longer socks can be worn if the skirt hem is long, shorter-length socks can be worn.
- the combination looks the coolest when you scrunch down your socks around the ankle. Not only does it make your skinny ankle look proportionate, but the overall look gets an edgy-vibe to it.
