I realized it has been a long time since I posted an exhibit of an item of “questionable” origin. I would like to remind everyone that the purpose of the Harvey Mercheum is to feature merchandise depicting Harvey characters, not to decide whether royalties were paid or should have been paid on the sale of said merchandise. Regardless of whether today’s exhibit is a “bootleg”, or unlicensed, product or not, it is certainly one of the items that I would love to rip open and play with!

I mentioned a while ago that I have no ability to draw, and so played with stickers and rubber stamps and coloring books and tracing paper and the like. One toy I really enjoyed was Colorforms, and I am very glad to see that they are still available. Unlike Colorforms, the stickers in this set seem to be normal three-dimensional “puffy” stickers. The board, however, is textured like a non-slip floor mat, with a series of raised circular bumps. I am guessing the bumps allow the stickers to be peeled up and stuck some place else. I am also guessing that the stickers would eventually stop sticking.

There are three of these sticker boards that I am aware of, and all three are in the permanent collection. Today I am exhibiting the only one featuring Casper, the Friendly Ghost:
