Steak Point at Lafayette Gourmet, Paris More about: Steak Point, Lafayette GourmetWe just reached Paris and my wife and I had a long week ahead filled with food discoveries. It all started at Paris’s food haven: “Lafayette Gourmet”. Your mouth will water continuously just walking through the isles of this food paradise where rich aromatic smells set all your senses on fire.
Steak_Point_Lafayette_Paris07Lafayette Gourmet is divided into many sections that includes the famous wine cellar, food from around the world as well as different counters that can satisfy all kinds of cravings. Italian, French, Sushi, Chinese, the famous Petrossian caviar as well as a steak corner where we decided to have lunch today. Known as the Boucherie et Bar a Viandes, Steak Point was our choice.  Here all kinds of meat, in all its forms is offered.Steak_Point_Lafayette_Paris10

  • Ferrari red high stools surround it as well as some high square tables
  • Light colored wooden tables seating four each and decorated with Peugeot salt and pepper mills along a nice stainless cutlery
  • An open kitchen grilling meat and burgers on deamand

The gourmet burger:
Gourmet, it is. A name deserved. The first impression was not great seeing this small white bun that looks very commercial, exactly like the one we have back home produced by Pain D’Or. Press it up and bite into it to feel and enjoy its hidden wonders. A soft, tender bun embracing many interesting and fresh ingredients. Rocket leaves covering a thick juicy meat where few sweet American pickles and thin slices of tomatoes add color and flavor to the sandwich. In the middle is a thick juicy meat covered with a melted French cheese on top and laying majestically on a cocktail sauce bed. When you think that things are done, some caramelized onions popup bursting all their richness around your mouth. Sweetness and richness of adequately cooked ingredients that I enjoyed with a smile. I loved the meat quality that is perfectly cooked, illuminating the inner red color all by staying juicy. I was honestly not expecting to enjoy it that much.

Served on a black board, a medium sized piece of meat looks nice. Shiny, this meat is from a premium quality. I even enjoyed crunching the fat around it that’s really good without any smell, unpleasant texture or aftertaste. On the side a bowl of sauce and a cup if French fries complete the meal.
Steak_Point_Lafayette_Paris14The two things that can be improved are the waitress and the fries. The fries are neither crunchy nor hot as they should be and the waitress is not welcoming, not smily and acts brutally. You’re at a mall after all but some smiles here and there won’t do no harm for the price paid.A good start, I thought looking at my wife. Six days were ahead during which I had prepared a long list of famous food addresses to discover…
