Staying in a Celebrity Holiday Home Isn’t as Expensive as You Think

By Twothirstytravellers @2thirstytrav

If you’re like most people, you probably see pictures of celebrities lounging in their gorgeous holiday homes and feel more than a little envy. The good news is that you don’t actually need to be earning a celebrity salary in order to take your holiday to the next level and stay in a holiday home fit for royalty.

Schofields have done some incredible research and made a list of the celebrity holiday homes that everyday people can stay in, and they’re nowhere near as expensive as you would expect.

Take the gorgeous Casa Elizabeth Luxury Estate which sleeps up to 8 people and is located in Palm Springs. Features include a fireplace, spa, pool, and incredible views and you’ll pay just £372 per week for each person. You’d pay more than that for a hotel!

I don’t know about you, but I like the sound of Merv Griffin’s home in California, which is ideal for those who like a little luxury in their life (but also don’t want to blow the budget). This equestrian compound has 13 bedrooms, and the 39-acre Merv Griffin Estate features sun terraces, an infinity pool and even your own private pond. With room for up to 20 people, it would be the perfect place for a small, intimate wedding with a background of the Santa Rosa Mountains.

If you’re looking for a property which has been home to a number of huge names, consider the gorgeous estate located right above Sunset Boulevard. Rita Hayworth, David Bowie, Barbara Streisand and David Bowie have all lived here, and with a jacuzzi, refreshing lagoon pool and incredible views of Hollywood, you and your 7 closest friends can stay for a whole week for just £455 per person.

For something a bit different, why not stay on a 46-foot yacht? The Ohana Pacific has been chartered by one of the biggest boy bands in history: One Direction. It has a fully equipped kitchen, two bedrooms and two bathrooms, with room for up to six people. Believe it or not but you can hire this yacht for just £144 per person per week.

If you have a big event like a wedding, corporate event or birthday, the amazing 16th-century villa in Florence Il Palagio is owned by Sting and Trudie Styler and has a tennis court, lake, swimming pool and gorgeous villa which can sleep up to 50 guests. Pack it full of people and each person will be paying just £183 for a whole week.

For the ultimate splurge, Necker Island is owned by Richard Branson, and this Caribbean getaway will show you what it means to really live like a celebrity. The island has plenty of activities to keep guests entertained and can sleep up to 30 people for £9928 per week.

I don’t know about you, but I’m surprised by some of these holiday homes. The next time I plan a group holiday I’ll be checking out this list instead of turning to a hotel or Air Bnb. Be sure to check out the below infographic for more information.
