Start the Basics of Your Spanish Language Learning

By Tlb

Do you ever have an attitude that every time you want to learn something, you always want to go to the advanced level instead of taking one step at a time? This situation often reminds me how my niece tried to learn how to play piano.

As I was teaching her the basics of do-re-mi, she often complains why she has to undergo these things when she wants to know how to play the piano with all her fingers and instantly play pieces of Beethoven. I explained to her that in order to play the Beethoven’s Fur Elise, she has to undergo the basics of playing the piano.

This is also the same when one wants to learn Spanish language. A learner will not become immediately fluent with Spanish unless he undergoes the basics of Spanish language. And the basics of Spanish always start with the greetings. The video below teaches you what are these basic greetings and how are these pronounced.

These are easy-to-learn Spanish greetings right? After learning the basic greetings, perhaps you could learn how to respond to these greetings. Take note of the following responses:

  • How are you? – ¿Cómo estás?
  • I’m fine. Thank you. How about you? – Estoy bien. Gracias. ¿Y tú?
  • You’re welcome – No hay de qué
  • Do you speak Spanish? – ¿Habla usted español?
  • I love to learn Spanish language! – Me encanta aprender el idioma español!

Basics are indeed very essential for a person’s starting point of learning Spanish language. If you, as an inspired Spanish learner, are interested in learning the language in a formal way, then you can learn Spanish at language school for a more comprehensive and précised learning. Spanish language schools will not just teach you the basics but even the advanced lessons as well. Besides, these language schools have even more systematic methods of letting you learn Spanish language in an easier and more comprehensible way.
