South Carolina Man Shoots Brother in the Face - He Was Negligent but No Charges Necessary

Aiken County investigators say a 19-year-old man accidentally shot his 11-year-old brother in the face. Investigators say the brothers were playing with a handgun when the accident happened. A witness and both brothers told investigators they got the gun from a lock box. The 19-year-old says he removed the magazine from the gun but did not take the bullet out of the chamber. Deputies say the 19-year-old pointed the gun and pulled the trigger, hitting the 11-year-old in the right side of his face. They say the older brother immediately called 911. The victim was taken to an area hospital. Investigators say the 19-year-old was negligent, but there was no criminal intent.
