SOTW: No Easy Way Out by Robert Tepper

Given that this is graduation week (for me), I must post a song that inspires me to continue on a path towards greatness. Growing up, my parents would watch the Rocky movies almost every weekend. I swear it was on all the time. I have to admit, I got annoyed. The funny thing is, the movies are great, the lessons you learn from watching them are great, and the soundtrack is… GREAT! Haha! The point is, the Rocky movies are the best. I am sure most of you would agree with this.

I was driving to my math final last week and No Easy Way Out (from Rocky IV) began to play on the radio. There is nothing more encouraging than a song from Rocky before an exam. I was so pumped! It must have worked because I got an A in the class when I was expecting a C. (See my post a couple of weeks ago for a detailed explanation for my grade concerns.) This song is very inspirational and can explain the woes of any college student… or professional boxer.

For those of you just getting to finals week, starting your first year of college, or graduating on Friday (like I am), take a moment to listen to this tune. Remember there is no easy way out. “The world ain’t all sunshine and rainbows.” But, some things ARE worth fighting for. This can pertain to love, family, friends, and an education. Keep up the hard work and it will pay off! Happy listening!
