Sore Muscles...smaller Pants

By Blondie @heyblondieblog
So for the past several weeks, 3 maybe, I have worked out 5-6 days a week. Weekday mornings my alarm goes off at 4:45 and I go to my friend's house who lives in the neighborhood and we do Insanity. Back home by 6 and get ready for my day. It is not easy to actually get out of the bed that early but I feel so good once I've done it and got my workout out of the way before starting my day.
Monday nights and Saturday mornings Dagwood has watched the kids and I've gone to Rock Your Body Studio and done the Rock Your Core class. I am sooo sore after doing this class but I know I am working muscles that haven't worked in a while. This kind of sore is a good sore!
Dagwood and I have been trying to lose a few pounds lately. We have done pretty good but I am just not seeing big numbers even though I have been working out and eating better. Although...I do see results in the fact that I put on a pair of pants this morning that had been too small. They are a size 6!!!!!
Rant...why do all manufacturers not get on the same page as far as pant sizes go? I mean this is an awesome feeling to be in a 6 but I tried pants on yesterday to take to Honduras and I got 10s! The 8s would have worked but they were a little snug in my problem area (stomach). I know they are made differently but really, a 6 in dress pants and 10 in other pants! Get it together people...just another reason for women to have undo stress!
Back to the smaller pants...They had been too tight in my thigh and stomach area but today they is room in the thigh area so I know I've lost inches there and in my stomach. So, I ask, why is the scale not going down? Guess I am gaining muscle where the fat used to reside. Why is the number on the scale so important to us? My goal in starting all of this about a year ago was to get healthy for the kids. I think that Dagwood and I have accomplished knowing how to eat healthier; it is just hard to always stick with it. Dagwood also exercises daily. I am starting to think that the number on the scale is so important if we are eating better and exercising daily. This is leaving a better example for our kids. I do want to be "smaller" but more than that I want to be healthy.
Do you work out? I can easily see myself keeping this up. It feels so good to get my body moving and keep it moving!
I printed this scripture out a year ago when Dagwood and I started this journey with weight loss and taped it to my computer at work. I had moved it when I changed offices but am now putting it back up after seeing a friend post it as well.
