Sopa De Cabra

By Stizzard

During the late 1980s and early 1990s, Sopa de Cabra was the band which lead the so called ‘rise of Catalan rock’. Nearly 20 years later, the teenagers who were fans back then are now in their thirties and they were very excited to hear that the band, led by Gerard Quintana, is getting together to perform one concert at the Palau Sant Jordi. The date chosen (9 September) is not by chance: they are celebrating 10 years since their last concert at the Razzmatazz hall and 20 since the great night of ‘rock català’, with Sangtraït and Sau at the Palau Sant Jordi. The success has been so great, that in less than five hours nearly all the 17,960 tickets for the Palau Sant Jordi concert had sold out. This has caused for the band from Gerona’s performance to be extended to the following two days. The new dates now include Sunday, 11 September, the Catalan National Day.
