Sony has sold 3.3 million PlayStation 4 consoles during the three months July to September.
It also sold another 800,000 PlayStation 3 consoles, which doesn’t seem too bad.
Although it didn’t break out individual formats for its handheld systems, it sold 700,000 combined PS Vita, PSP and PlayStation TV units.
Sales in the company’s PlayStation business segment were up 84 percent over the same period last year, although overall the Sony Corporation still made a loss of 136 billion yen ($1.2bn / £762m), mainly due to costs of restructuring its mobile smartphone business.
