Solar panels are used by large number of people these days in order to generate electricity for their homes. It is quite an interesting fact that rays of sun produce around 1000 watts of energy per square meter on the surface of the planet. Thus when this sun light falls on the Photovoltaic cells which are made from semi conducting material an electric field is created.

If you wish to use solar energy in your home there are many possible ways to do so like Solar Photovoltaic (PV) panels, solar thermal panels, solar car port and even solar swimming pool heating.

Solar energy besides being natural and renewable form of energy, its use has many other benefits. Solar panels used in house are silent and does not create any noise, they need very minimum maintenance, they are non polluting, add value to your property, is long lasting and above all save your hard earned money spent on energy bills.

Over the past few years, the installation cost of solar panels has reduced and moreover the process of installation has also become quick and easy which is attracting more and more people towards this form of generating electricity. On an average a 3 bedroom house in UK approximately pays energy bill of £ 1,600 per year in normal conditions. When solar panels are used one can save around £200 per year and moreover this saving can be increased up to £800 per year through government tariff.

Thus electricity generated through solar panels not only saves environment but your hard earned money as well.
