Snapshots // a lovely week

It’s been a lovely few days and it feels right to document them properly. Savouring them, if you will.

It was the Mr’s and I anniversary ~ there was flowers, awwww, and a lovely dinner out. This restaurant is in an old railway station and is just divine ~ food and decor.

A little perk of the job during the week was tasting some smoked trout by a local master smoker. Delicious.

The beautiful food continued through the weekend ~ with the Mr making a delicious hot smoked salmon and cous cous salad, [recipe in the latest Taste magazine].

The Mr was a on a roll, whipping up a Jamie Oliver version of paella with some added capsicums and fresh tomato.

And then the Mr and I made ourselves a platter or smoked trout and fresh bread for Sunday lunch while the boys were off at friends’ houses.

Lots of farmers market buys popping up on the menu. We’re lucky to have a range of local and lovely producers who attend the markets with their wares.

And we finished the weekend heading down to the river to the community wood-fired oven with our pizzas, getting them cooked and sitting among dozens of others doing a similar thing. An initiative of the council, the oven is open for baking usually every second Sunday and is free!

Documenting some lovely moments that were a little out of the ordinary.
