Ski

I wrote my name in Skålen, Örebro Län, Sweden and the snow slowly covers it. I went there with the youth group for a winter camp where I first learn my ski lesson. It was such a challenging experience. Skiing is not as easy as you see it. Stepping into the ski is like you are learning your first steps, like a baby struggling to stand. With your knees trembling, you try your best to learn to stand, at least. A little movement can bend your knees separate from each other and there is not much that you can do but shout “Ouch!”. The more you are hurt, the more you aim to make it through. Then you start to slide your legs. You are forced to split your legs without your will and through that, you will learn to keep your balance. Then you start sliding in an inclined spots and start to smile as you go through. Now you learn to sway, ready for another level. Suddenly you just realized, after 4 hours of training yourself, you are now at the top, swaying your way down with a cool feeling of pride that as a Pinoy, you were able to ski. That pride that only few Pinoy were able to do it.
