Simple Homemade Beauty Products for Your Glowing Skin

Treating the skin needs utmost care and caution. Picking up any skin care product in the store and using it on your skin is one of the worst things you can do to your skin. The products available in the market are mostly synthetic and contain lots of chemicals that can harm your skin and cause adverse effects. They may show quick results, but cause harm in the long run. Use basic home products to take good care of your skin. It takes some time for treatment, but the results are natural, positive, and last long. They are more skin friendly and cause no harm. They are pocket friendly as well, so you need not hesitate in using them.

Glowing Skin Homemade Products

Here are a few recipes for products that are great for your skin and can do wonders for you. Use them on a daily basis to see the results.

Anti-Ageing:

Strawberry works best for anti-aging benefits.

For Oily Skin:

  • Orange Juice
  • Egg White
  • Lavender Oil (Mix it with some carrier oil like olive oil to use on your skin. Since it is an essential oil, it must not be used directly on your skin)
  • Cucumber Juice – It also helps in controlling oil and also puffy eyes
  • Buttermilk

Cleansers:

For Oily Skin:

If you have an oily skin, make a mixture of besan, or chickpea flour, with curd and green gram flour. You can also add some cucumber juice, lavender oil, and lemon juice to it. Apply this on your face to cleanse it.

For Dry Skin:

  • People with dry skin find milk and Aloe Vera gel to be very effective in enhancing the skin texture.
  • Using honey with curd is also very helpful.
  • You can reduce the dryness of your face and remove excess impurities at the same time by mixing lemon with honey and curd to use as a cleanser.
  • Mix some mashed apple with yoghurt to make a cleanser and toner that works perfectly o all skin types.
  • Another cleanser for all skin types is made with sandalwood powder and honey/milk/curd. This calms inflammations and also purifies the skin.

In order to get rid of tan and erase spots on your skin, apply a mixture of cabbage juice and tomato juice.

Facials:

Indians have always used their own recipes for facials. Several packs and preparations have been passed on by our grandmothers and great-grandmothers. They have their own secrets for the youthful and flawless skin they own. The milk, turmeric, and gram flour facial does wonders for your skin by cleaning all blemishes and hydrating your skin to make it look fresh and young. It is a very simple method to make it:

Ingredients:

  • Gram Flour – 2 tsps
  • Turmeric – ¼ tsp
  • Honey – few drops
  • Milk – few drops

How to Use:

  • Mix the gram flour and turmeric well together.
  • To get the right consistency, add the milk and honey.
  • Wash your face to make it clean.
  • Apply the pack on your face and leave it to dry for 20 minutes.
  • Wash it off and pat dry to get smooth skin.

Lip Balms:

An effective lip balm can be made with the following ingredients:

  • Vaseline/ Coconut Oil/ Beeswax
  • Vitamin E Oil
  • Honey
  • Any Essential Oil of your choice ( Rose/ Lavender/ Chamomile/ Lemon/ Olive/ Almond)
  • Lipstick for Tint – If you Prefer
  • Or Use only Carrot Juice or Beetroot Juice to go natural

Mix all the above and freeze it for around 5 to 6 hours. Your lip balm is ready to use.

Moisturisers:

For Dry Skin:

  • Egg Yolk
  • Sesame Oil
  • Banana
  • Almond Oil
  • Milk
  • Milk Cream/Ghee/Butter
  • Peanut Butter
  • Oats
  • Rose Oil (Mix with some carrier oil like Olive Oil to use it. Do not use directly on skin as it is an essential oil)

For Oily Skin:

Extra virgin olive oil and pure jojoba oil work best for oily skin. They have the capacity to moisturise the dry patches and also trick the over oily patches to produce lesser amount of oil. They do not clog your pores or cause any kind of breakout.

Scrubs:

For Dry Skin:

  • Take some coarsely powdered green gram flour or curds and mix with oats to make a cleanser perfect for dry skin.
  • Papaya is really good for the skin as it contains Papain, an enzyme which removes dead skin cells and impurities.

For Oily Skin:

Dry and powder orange peels to apply on the face and soothe oily skin. It has anti-bacterial properties that make orange peels an essential ingredient in facials these days.

For Acne Prone Skin:

Mix baking soda with water or cleanser to apply on such skin types and cleanse it well.

For All Skin Types:

  • Mix grounded coffee with olive oil or almond oil to cleanse your skin. Coffee helps in draining the puffy areas and the oil moisturises the skin.
  • Mix sugar with olive oil to make a cleanser that suits all skin types and also gives effective results.
  • Mixing green tea with sugar or sea salt is effective for people who want anti-aging and anti-blemish properties.

Toners:

Since ancient times, rose has always been the favorite toning ingredient. Use this recipe for the perfect toner:

Ingredients:

  • Witch Hazel – 3 ½ cups
  • Dried Rose Petals – ½ cup
  • Fresh Rosemary – 5 springs

Usage Technique:

  • Mix all the ingredients and blend together
  • Strain well

Use the resulting mixture whenever you require it. Rosemary improves blood circulation and witch hazel helps by cleansing the skin.

All the above recipes are really good for your skin, and give it all benefits without any adverse effects. The ingredients given are easily available in the market, and not very expensive. They are completely harmless and natural. So, use it according to your choice and make the best of it.
