Oh man! The Summer is here already – how did that happen?
Yeah, yeah – I know it’s only January and we’re all preparing for ‘the big freeze’ and all that but I’m not going mad, honestly! Summer is here and it has arrived in the form of Si Cranstoun.
His new single ‘Never Gonna Let You Go’, coming from his debut album ‘Modern Life’ released last year, will be released on February 9th but you can listen to it now, right here, thanks to your friendly Doughnut. It’s just the thing to chase away the dark clouds and bring back blue skies and a smiley sun.
Cheesy, I know, but boy does this guy get to you! I don’t know if it is the retro motown style or his energy which simply explodes from your speakers but this single makes you want to get out onto the street and bop with people all around you. It’s time for a street dance, people!
Actually, street dancing would be quite appropriate for Si Cranstoun honed his craft busking on the UK’s streets before signing to Warner Music UK’s East West label. Taking his big band across the country, he quickly became reconised as one of the foremost names on the underground vintage scene and the man seems to have no limit to his ability for composing friendly toe-tapping tunes. Once you hear his song you hum it for the rest of the day.
I’ve not seen this guy on stage yet but by all accounts Si Cranstoun’s busking skills shine in concert with his ‘endearing dance moves and friendly banter’ winning the hearts of his audiences.Cranstoun knows how to make you stop whatever you’re doing and enjoy the moment as he sings. No wonder he’s tipped to be the ‘voice of 2015′. I don’t know if he’ll make it but judging by this single the year will be full of sunshine if he does – whatever the weather.
