I’ve had a fairly glitzy week this week when I’ve had my friend to stay; we’ve watched a few girly films including Chicago (which I’ve owned for at least a year and never watched it, can you believe it!), Mamma Mia and finally Burlesque. I really enjoyed the glamour of all of these films and the stars were amazing; I enjoyed Christina Aguilera and Cher belting out the tunes in Burlesque, and I was über-impressed with Renée Zellweger and Catherine Zeta Jones’ singing and dancing in Chicago – who knew they could do that?!
Anyway, I was browsing the “what’s on” guide for this weekend and I spotted that the DanceEast dance school were offering a taster Burlesque dance class – one hour lesson for only £1. I persuaded one of my girlfriend to go with me and I booked us both in immediately! So today I’m off to the Burlesque class this afternoon and I think it’ll be a good laugh – although I’ve no idea what I should wear for it? Any ideas?? I’ve googled the word ‘burlesque’ and I’m not sure I’ll need to wear anything quite as risqué as this for my first lesson! The dance school recommended that we bring high heels so I’ll have to dig out my fave pair and I’ll report back to let you know how we get on!
