YtN&tM #029

This week's show consists of every single released by 4AD in the year 1981 with a couple of album tracks to make up the hour. The Synth Pop and New Wave elements had been totally eradicated by the label's second year, so the playlist is pure Post-Punk. 1982 will follow soon....
  1. Sort Sol - Marble Station
  2. The Past Seven Days - Rain Dance
  3. My Captains - Fall
  4. Gilbert & Lewis - Ends With the Sea
  5. Mass - Mass
  6. Colin Newman - Fish IV
  7. Dif Juz - Hu
  8. Modern English - Smiles & Laughter
  9. The Birthday Party - Release the Bats
  10. David Jay & Rene Halkett - Nothing
  11. Matt Johnson - Bugle Boy
  12. The Birthday Party - Mr Clarinet
  13. Dance Chapter - Backwards Across Thresholds
  14. Dif Juz - Gunet

Guest Mix

This week's guest mix comes from Mike Textbeak with a two hour mix of Witch House, Ghost Drone and Haunted Disco. Don't ask me what any of that means, but it sounds fine!

Video

A short clip of Dif Juz performing live in 1985. Filmed apparently by Simon Raymonde of Cocteau Twins. This is majestic!

This is The Birthday Party with the video made for Nick the Stripper released as a single in Australia in 1981. Stills from the video were used for the sleeve of Release the Bats.
