Kody

I think every mom will agree that shopping for baby clothes has to be one of the favorite things to do when you’re preparing for a babies arrival. It’s all too easy to get carried away; there are far too many cute and adorable items in the shops. Do we really need to buy them all?

“Aw look at that”

“How cute is this?”

“We have to have this”

Yes these tiny adorable outfits call out to us, making our heart melts. We go crazy and the hormones take over as we stock a double wardrobe full ready for our new arrival, to find weeks later 90% of them still have the tags attached and no longer fit our growing baby.

When buying new clothes for your baby, you need to keep one thing in mind; will you get your monies worth?

Your newborn will be in this first size for a small number of weeks.

Shopping for baby clothes becomes troublesome and I have known many couples argue over this, mainly because mom to be wants to buy anything and everything in sight.

When shopping for baby clothes, remind yourself that your newborn baby needs lots of clothes as they do need to be changed regularly throughout the day. If your baby is a sickly baby and brings up their feed, you’re going to be changing outfits frequently.

Having a few spare outfits is ideal; it will save you having to put the washer on every day too.

Vests – These are ideal to go under all outfits and keeps the nappy contents in place too if there are any leaks.

Sleepsuits – These are an all in one outfit that are perfect for newborns. They are designed to make nappy changes easy although be warned, it takes practice to fasten all those press studs correctly.

Cardigans – These are ideal for the more chilly weather conditions and can easily be put on and taken off.

Hats and Caps – Depending upon the time of year you have your baby it’s advisable that you have a hat to protect your baby from the cold and a cap to protect them from the sun.

Blanket – To add a layer when it gets cold

Coat – For when you take baby outside to keep off the chill

Bibs – Lots of these will come in handy

But how hard is it to resist all those frilly dresses, trousers, shirts and dungarees?
