Shakib-ul-Hassan Leads Bangladesh Onslaught Against Pakistan

Shakib-ul-Hassan led Bangladesh onslaught against. Helped by his marvelous innings Bangladesh scored 175-6. He scored a brisk fifty in Do or Die game. Bangladesh started off very briskly and raised score to 34 on just 20 balls. Opener Mohammad Ashraful cracked three fours in his 13 balls innings. He was bowled by Sohail Tanvir on 14. His departure brought in hero of the inning Shakib-ul-Hassan at the crease.

Shakib made his intentions clear as he arrived on the crease. He always looked at ease against both spin and fast attack of Pakistan. The gutsy Shakib only took 33 balls to score a magnificent fifty. The fifty innings was studded with seven fours and two towering sixes. Tamim Iqbal also chipped in well with hid 12 ball 24. He was run out after losing his balance on a call that was not responded by Shakib-ul-Hassan. His innings included five hits over the rope.

Mushfiqur Rahim accompanied Shakib-ul-Hassan well and scored 25 runs off 26 deliveries. His innings also included a six and a four. Mehmudullah was the only batsman who could not contribute with the bat. He was caught by Umar Akmal off Shaid Afridi without scoring.

Falling wickets did not shake the confidence of Shakib -ul-Hassan. He continued to talk in terms of boundaries. He perished after scoring 84 runs on just 54 deliveries. He smashed 11 fours and one six in his entertaining innings.

Both teams were in a completely different. Pakistan did well again Kiwis in their opening match. It was expected that game will largely be ruled by Pakistan. All expectation went wrong as Bangladesh displayed brilliant performance with the bat. Pakistani bowling proved toothless against the tigers.

Star bowler like Umar Gul  went for plenty of runs. He conceded 43 runs in three overs at an economy rate of 14.33. Yasir Arafat was pick of the bowlers as he bagged three wickets for 25 runs.
