Seventeen Wild Metallic Cream Eyeshadows

By Behindtheseclosedeyes @theseclosedeyes
This year I've made it my mission to wear some more autumnal colours on my eyes as I tend to stick to neutrals all year round. While I do still wear neutral colours 90% of the time, I've still found myself reaching for these two Metallic Cream Eyeshadows from Seventeen. I have the shades Wild Purple and Wild Green, and they are both pretty self explanatory in terms of the color. I'm already a big fan of cream eyeshadows, namely MAC Paint Pots, Benefit Creaseless Creams and Maybelline Colour Tattoos, so it has been great to try out these offerings from Seventeen!

Wild Purple is a shimmery purple shade and surprise surprise, Wild Green is a shimmery green shade. I've been a huge fan of matte shades recently so having some shimmer back in my life has taken some getting used to, but I think that they're great for brightening up your eyes on dull days. Purple is a color I don't usually wear on the eyes as I'm just not very adventurous, but over the last few weeks I've been sweeping Wild Purple all over the lids and I'm good to go. Wild Green is a bit more difficult to wear as I just don't think I suit it on the lids, but instead I've been using it to line my eyes and also in the crease to define it. It's a great change from black or brown and makes me feel so autumnal which is a massive plus.

The one thing that I think lets the Wild Metallics down (or at least with the two shades that I have) is the formula. While they are creamy enough to apply, I just don't find them to be very pigmented and this means that the color applies quite patchy on the eyes. It takes a bit longer to get an even finish with these cream shadows but they do look lovely so I'd say the extra effort is worth it. The wear time of the Wild Metallics isn't the best as they crease quite quickly, but I'm not sure how much of a difference an eye primer would make as I don't use one.

All in all I've been loving these shades as they are so Autumn appropriate and have given me the chance to change up my eye makeup without going too crazy. While the formula isn't the best, I still like to reach for these two colours when I want to add a little bit extra to an everyday eye look. In terms of quality, I'd have to go back to my old favourites  from MAC, Benefit & Maybelline but I've still enjoyed playing around with these fun colours.
You can get the Seventeen Wild Metallic Cream Eyeshadows from Boots for £3.99.
