Day Five of the Self-Transcendence 10 Day Race 2015 is also the end of Day 1 of the Self-Transcendence 6 Day Race in Flushing Meadow Park in Queens, New York.

Mark Dorion commented on the Ultralist that the weather was cold and the images on Utpals blog corroborate this.

After the first day its difficult to tell where people are in terms of their own cycles and rhythms so all we have at the moment is the results posted on the race website.

Sarah has extended her lead over Shamita with a 70 mile day. Pati Ibinova had a better day to consolidate her position in third place.

The men have maintained their efforts over the last 48 hours whilst the 6 day runners have begun their journey’s.

John Geesler led at the end of the first 24 hours with 106 miles. Second place was Dipali Cunningham with 103 miles. Second man and third overall was the race record holder, Rimas Jakelaitis whose recent performances have improved year on year finishing 4th in last years event. Second woman is Nataliya Hlushchuk, a previous winner of the womens 10 day race closely followed by Britains Steven Battle in his first 6 day race who last July fell off a rock that left him with a broken left arm, 3 fractured ribs, a fractured right hand and a fractured pelvis.
