Roshni Public School is an educational charity set up by The Roshni Trust in Qayyumabad, Karachi, Pakistan. Since 2010, the school and the trust has been providing quality education to the less privileged children of the area. At RPS, the latest methodologies are utilized to give the students a well rounded learning experience. This year, in recognition of our team and staff’s hard work and dedication, RPS won the prestigious Azm Award 2012 (by the famous initiative Azme Alishan).

Today, RPS has over 150 children from kindergarten to class five, and we are adding one class each year. The year 2012 also marks another milestone for RPS as The Roshni Trust completed construction of and commenced classes in its own brand new building, which has the capacity of up to ten classes. The new premises are equipped with a well stocked library, computer and science labs, prayer and naazra room, art room, assembly and an A/V hall and a covered play area. Along with these modern facilities, students at RPS enjoy state of the art instruction like the incorporation of Kindle Readers in the library and being privy to instruction via an interactive daily e-learning system taught by Ilm O Amal, a famous educational NGO.

We only charge a monthly fee of Rs. 100 to maintain family dignity and to discern the serious students. In return, they are provided with a high end curriculum, uniforms, stationery and other supplies and a healthy snack every day.

The Roshni Trust depends on regular donations, zakaat, sadqaat and sponsorships to make all this possible. By donating just Rs.1000, you can sponsor a child’s education at RPS for one month. This is inclusive of all expense, salaries and maintenance of the school. You can also donate any amount or pay for a one time expense of any supply. We also welcome volunteers and guests throughout the year who do different activities and motivate our students. We greatly value the field trips that have been sponsored by our volunteers as it gives excellent exposure to our children and facilitates us in teaching different concepts.
