San Francisco S’mores

Evidentally it was National Smore’s Day last weekend.  And I missed it. But not because I didn’t care. Oh no, I was just out living life. We spent last week camping at Lake Tahoe and I had lots of opportunities to roast S’mores. Now traditionally you all know that S’mores are made with Hershey’s chocolate. But I’m going to let you in on a little secret. I don’t like Hershey’s chocolate. I know, I know. It’s chocolate blasphemy! Sorry Mr. Hershey I think your chocolate tastes weird. Maybe I liked it as a kid but my taste buds have evolved and now I crave a more sophisticated S’mores experience. Say hello to San Francisco S’mores! One bite and your S’mores experience will be elvated to the next level too.

San Francisco is known for its Ghirardelli Chocolate. Ok, maybe it’s known for a few other things too! We make it a point to pick up a few squares everytime we go to the city. There is just something about buying them in the real Ghiradelli Square in San Francisco that makes them soooo good. But of course you can also buy these little chocolate squares of goodness at the regular grocery store these days too.

My favorite flavor is the Dark Chocolate with Raspberry filling. But Milk Chocolate with Caramel filling runs a very close second.

You know the drill. Roast and toast your marshmallows till they are ooey and gooey. Plop that marshmallow on a graham cracker and add a square or 2 of your Ghirardelli Chocolate. Top it off with another graham cracker. Your chocolate will begin to melt over the hot marshmallow.

Go ahead. Make it a double decker. I dare ya’!

Raspberry San Francisco S'more

Let the kids have their Hershey’s. When you hit the campground or fire pit for the remainder of the summer, make is a San Francisco S’more.
