At first I was pretty excited to get this smartphone which comes with Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean, 1GHz dual core processor, 717MB RAM and 5-MP camera. It seemed like a great deal. But I had issues with the device from the beginning.

First issue I found on this device was a small but very annoying thing on the display. When viewing dark images or videos (especially with Black backgrounds) a small blip of green light appeared on top of the screen. It was like a tiny green flash light pointing from the top of the screen and spreading down. At first it seemed like nothing, but when watching videos it started to bother me a lot. I noticed this issue on the first day I bought the phone. So I took it back to change the phone. I had to make a strong case but they finally did offered to replace the phone. Sadly, that phone had the same problem with the screen. The folks at the store said it was the way Samsung make this phone, but I have never seen a Samsung phone with a green blip on the display like this one.

You won’t probably notice this green blip at the store when checking out the phone with bright lights and all. But after taking it home, you’ll see what I’m talking about. Despite what the technical people said, I don’t think it’s normal for a phone to have a big green blip on top of the screen. And that’s only the beginning of my painful journey with Galaxy S Duos 2.

I’ve been using this device for over two weeks now. I’m starting to see more and more issues with the device, including the heating. This phone is not designed for hardcore Android users. Even when using regular apps like Google+ or Facebook, the device starts to heat up like an oven to a point where you can barely keep it on your hand. As you can imagine, this made gaming on this device very difficult. I had to limit playing games to few minutes.

And now I’m starting to see another problem with the body of this phone. As it appears, the side of the body is starting to swell up and popping up small bumps. It’s weird. Probably the first time I’m experiencing these kind of problems with a smartphone.

They give you a two-year warranty for the phone. But trust me, that warranty or the cheap price is not worth the trouble. You’re better off with a quality phone like Nokia Lumia 525, which can be bought for the same price.
