There are a lot of different kinds of tablets out there, specifically designed for kids. But, almost all of them were made by some sort of a small company with very little knowledge. Which is why kids were never interested in those tabs. Now, Samsung plans to change that. The Korean tech giant has unveiled its plans to launch a specially designed Galaxy Tab 3 for kids “aimed at driving the educational possibilities of technology for kids.”

According to Samsung’s press release, Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 Kids comes packed with a 7-inch display, 3-MP front-facing camera, a 1.3-MP rear shooter, 1GB of RAM, 1.2GHz dual-core processor, a specially designed C Pen stylus and a Kids Case with multiple stand options. The tab gets powered by Android 4.1 and also features a new Kid’s Store with lots of games, educational apps, kid-friendly videos and many more.  Application Manager will offer parents full control over what their kids gets to use on the tab and there’s this Time Management feature that lets parents control how much time kids gets to use the tab, so they don’t forget to do their homework.

“It’s no secret that kids are using technology more than ever before,” said JK Shin, CEO and Head of IT & Mobile Communication at Samsung Electronics. “We saw an opportunity to create a device just for kids that provides them with an intuitive, fun and kid-friendly user experience filled with rich, interactive and educational content that parents will love.”

As innovative as it sounds, this tab is also very colorful and beautiful. Without doubt, kids are gonna love it. And unlike giving them an iPad upfront, this tab will be a great start for kids to enter the digital age. Galaxy Tab 3 Kids will head out in Korea in early September. Followed by China, Europe, U.S., Africa, South America and South East Asia. Pricing hasn’t been announced yet.
