Slayin’ is an endless action RPG for iOS devices and it is also available for free on PC. This 8-bit themed action packed game will satisfy your early 90's needs. With minimal loading times you are thrown into gameplay fairly quickly. At the start screen you are given three options.
Start - Where you can instantly start playing
Tavern - The area to upgrade equipment or purchase new characters.
Graveyard - This will display your highest score along with your level. If you have any GameCenter friends who have played, their score and level will also be shown in the graveyard.

Gameplay: When choosing to start you also have another three options for playing. Normal, Advanced, and Boss Rush mode. Normal mode is the only mode unlocked and available to play when you start. Three characters are available for playing though the Knight is the only one unlocked at the beginning. I find the knight the most fun to play with out of all three characters. The controls stay simple, from the picture above you can either move left or right and the button allows you to jump. All characters will move on their own having you choose the direction you move in. You will level up after ten enemies are killed. After every ten level ups you will face a boss. Usually with every 5 or so level ups a man will appear on the right or left side giving you the option to increase your swords, armor, or health. The shop becomes essential when getting into higher levels.

Final Thoughts: While the 8-bit art and charming music to match it is a treat. Slayin becomes repetitive with having to start over when dying, making you face the same bosses over and over again. Timing is key in a game like this for jumps or attacks. I don't think you can beat the world's first endless RPG for only a dollar.
