I have been a Rachel Roy fan for a very, very long time. When Rachel launched her diffusion line in 2009 exclusively at Macy's I instantly became obsessed. Her contemporary designs represents the girl with the downtown vibe and always consists of classic and sophisticated pieces at a great price point.
This past Friday, I had the pleasure of attending the unveiling of Rachel Roy's Fall 10 at Macy's Lenox Mall hosted by fellow Atlanta blogger Mattie James. I actually won a twitter contest (and I never win anything!) to meet Rachel and have a personal styling consultation. With Fall only a few days away, it was the perfect time to learn about Rachel's 10 essential must have pieces for the season and get some great style advice from a woman who has been in the fashion industry most of her life.

One of Rachel's favorite items (and also a cool weather wardrobe staple for me) was her sweater coat. Rachel recommends belting it with a men's belt for a chic look ( genius!). Another favorite look is pairing a blazer or her military jacket worn over the shoulders with a dress- a look that is feminine but still strong. It's a great way to mix textures and help transition pieces into the new season.
