Review/Swatches: Physician’s Formula 2-in-1 Lash Boosting Eyeliner Serum – Ultra Black, Black, Deep Brown

By Beautifulbuns

Yay I’ve somewhat recovered from the craziness that was the Fenty Beauty launch last week (check out swatches of their products here!). During the frenzy that was people queueing up for 10 hours and sprinting into the stores as well as the uncomfortable heat caused by the spotlights, I do notice that the range doesn’t have an eyeliner product (that, and the dearth of actual lipsticks). Here’s one product I’ve been wanting to review, but never got down to it.

I say…

The Packaging: A standard pen-sized eyeliner with a glossy silver finish. The cap clicks on, but note that it’s spring-loaded and is pretty darned strong, so you’ll need to make a conscious effort to close it. I have absentmindedly tried to close the eyeliner without any effort, only for the eyeliner is literally spring and bounce outta my hands.

The Scent: Nil.

The Application: One layer gives a pretty decent color payoff (Ultra Black is the most intense, while Black is surprisingly sheerer, kinda like a dark gray. Deep Brown is medium intensity). Layer it on to get a deeper and more intense eyeliner. I love that the tip is, as its description says, a precision tip – I can get a nice bold line on the upper lid, perfectly angle my wing tips, and even a fine line for the undereye!

The Verdict: I LOVE THIS. This has legit got to be my new favorite eyeliner. It stays on for most of the day (in a humid climate + oily eyelids). When it fades, it does a subtle disappearing act and doesn’t smudge into that sexay raccoon-panda finish. I’ve been using it for months, and somehow, the ink doesn’t seem to run out (or perhaps it’s just good product design), and I always have a steady flow of eyeliner ink. It does say that this is supposed to boost eyelash length/volume – because of this claim, I am more motivated to draw a tighter eyeline (closer to the lash line). That said, I don’t see any drastic and visible  improvements in my lash length and thickness. Perhaps it’s just my very sad genes that don’t support lash growth. hah. Anyhoos, the fact that this works as a great eyeliner and comes with an affordable price tag are good enough reasons to get it. This is definitely a staple eyeliner that you haz to get!
