Review: Wet n Wild Natural Wear/Blend Lip Shimmer

By Beauteandtheblog
Hello everyone!
The other day I was going through my makeup collection picking out some things that I might like to start using again for fall, and I came across these two Wet n Wild Natural Wear Lip Shimmers. I know everyone is into the tinted lip balm/Revlon lip butters these days, so I figured these would be a good product to review.

I believe they've been repackaged now, and they're now called Natural Blend Lip Shimmers. But otherwise, they're the same! :)
The two shades I have are 100 Frost and 105 Maple:

Frost is just that - a frosty light pink, and maple is a orangey red. Swatches:

As you can see, Frost is rather sheer, whereas Maple is actually quite pigmented.
Both have a fair bit of glitter/shimmer in them. Frost is more white shimmer, and maple has more golden orange shimmer.

So what do I think? Here's what Wet n Wild Says:
Adds brilliant shimmer and beautiful luminescent color to lips. Approved by the Natural Products Association, these lip shimmers are made of a natural formula infused with calming ingredients of vitamins and natural oils to keep lips moisturized and nourished.
I really like these actually! The fact that they're made with natural ingredients is a great plus!
Frost is super pretty layered lightly over a matte lipstick to give it some shine. Or, I love to put it on the middle of my bottom lip just to give my lips some dimension, and it also gives it a little bit of a plumper appearance. I don't wear this one all over my lips though because I feel like that would just be a little too much shimmer.
Maple is really very pigmented, and it's a really nice orangey red shade. I don't wear this one as often because I don't think of it as an everyday color, and plus orange doesn't quite complement my complexion quite as well. But if you're into orangey red lipsticks, check this one out! This one I would wear all over my lips if not for the shade though.
My one complaint is that the shade of the cap doesn't quite match the product. I bought maple thinking it would be more of a brownish nude, but it turned out to be more of an orangey red! So be careful when you're buying these - you might want to look up swatches beforehand.
There is a slight taste to them, but nothing that I found repulsive. But if you're sensitive to that, you might want to be careful. Its nothing awful though.
My favorite part about these is how they feel on the lips - they are so smooth and very moisturizing. My lips don't feel dry, and they do actually last quite a while on my lips. Its like wearing a lip balm!
And an even better part? They're only $1.99 each and they come in 9 different shades!!
You can buy these at Target and all drugstores.
Let me know if you've tried any of these!
Love,Belle
